If people around you keep complaining that there is nothing to do in Karachi aside from having food in restaurants all the time and you kinda agree – well, we thought we’d compile a list of places which are more interactive. To be honest, the list isn’t that long and we wish more places would open up which are more experience and activity based.
Anyhoo, coming back to the topic.
Place #1: GINSOY LIVE – Karaoke
Ginsoy LIVE recently opened up at Khayaban-e-Bukhari and while serving your usual Chinese food favourites along with featuring a live cooking station, it lets you do karaoke. It is an extremely popular choice for hi-tea and over the weekends and you will often see groups of people joining in and coming together to sing a song.
We think it’s a great place if you are hosting a girls’ night out or celebrating a birthday and want to do something fun and memorable.
Place #2: ESCAPISTAN – Game Room
Escapistan is also located at Khayaban e Bukhari (coincidence? We think not. JK.) and basically it hosts an escape room game. You get 60 minutes, a room and a whole lotta clues to try and find an escape with your group of friends. If you are able to do it in record time, you even get featured in their wall of fame. And yes, they also have a menu so you can have a meal before or after your escapade.
Place #3: KOEL Cafe – Art Gallery
Okay this one is no secret. Koel Cafe is basically an art gallery but also has a cafe inside its premises. They recently renovated their space so it’s more spacious and looks even prettier. If you are someone who enjoys a good view and likes to be in the midst of art, that’s where you should go. They even occasionally host storytelling evenings, where you can basically come and read out something you have written. Check their page for more details.
Place #4: JUCY LUCY & FLOC – Board Games
Do you fancy a game of Sequence while you wait for food or do you want to take a shot at Snake & Ladders and see who wins? Jucy Lucy & FLOC are both more relaxed eateries where you can pick up a board game of your choice and play. They also have good game food so that’s bonus. We think cheese fries at Jucy Lucy are really good and if you’re at FLOC, try their range of frappes.
Place #5: Khaadi Kanteen – SHOP
Khaadi partnered with Desi Gali to launch Kanteen recently and it is a place that you must visit. There isn’t so much to do there really but you can definitely window shop or even actually shop because it’s located right above Khaadi. The food is definitely worth it.
Which of these places are you more interested in checking out?
